Boozer Farms, located in Chilton County, is a family farm run by Taylor Hatchett and her father Bobby Boozer. What began as a summer project while Taylor was a college student has slowly grown and evolved into a full-time farming operation that consists of fruit and vegetable production as well as a small sod farm. Boozer Farms prides itself on delivering high quality produce to its surrounding communities through participation in local farmers markets, on farm sales, restaurant and grocery store deliveries and an ever expanding community supported agriculture (CSA) program. Taylor and Bobby began farming full time in the spring of 2012 and today they grow more than 30 varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables. When asked what she loves most about farming, Taylor explained, "It's the people I connect with, the food I grow, the soil I spend time working, the sunrises and sunsets, the sweat and tears, the challenges, the victories, the lessons learned, the things that stay the same, and those that always change. It’s the people I love working next to me. Some of what I love is impossible to even put into words, it’s a joy in my heart and a peace in my soul that encourages me even on the tough days to keep going. I truly believe that this is what I was called to do and I’m thankful for the opportunity to work at something I love so much."
